Fear Free Pets Program
Last week, someone brought in two dogs to stay at our kennel. It was spring break, and our kennel was full. The two dogs were in stimulus overload from all the barking, and the customer made other arrangements because of this. This saddened me, not because they left but because our kennel caused stress on those two dogs. I knew we had to make changes… The Where, what, and how to change I did not know.
So, I spent several days searching for answers. I found help on AKC’s website, a program called Fear Free Pets. I enrolled in this program and finished it last night. We will be making changes to our kennel soon. It can’t happen overnight, but it will be an ongoing progress. The three rules we have for RnR Kennel & Klip are:
1. The safety and well-being of the dogs in our care.
2. The safety of the people working in the kennel.
3. The safety of the customers.
The best reviews we get are not from humans. It’s when a dog gets excited when they arrive.
